Dorset Food and Arts Festival appoints new chairman
We’re thrilled to announce that Katie Slade has taken over the reins as Festival Chairman for this sixth Dorset Food and Arts Festival.
After four years on the committee and working behind the scenes in many guises, Katie is a familiar and friendly face in Poundbury and Dorchester.
Katie is looking forward to a highly successful day and is thrilled at the prospect of seeing Queen Mother Square welcome so many talented local food producers and artists.
“It really is a massive team effort. This year will see a bigger area used for the festival, which will provide more stalls and a greater range of variety.”
Katie added: “There will also be more charities benefitting from the day with four rather than one. Not to mention new stalls, exciting visual arts and demonstrations. It’s the perfect place for lunch!”
As ever the locally produced food and drink takes centre stage, which is something Katie is passionate about.
“The festival is growing every year and we’re especially proud to have celebrity chef Lesley Waters as the new patron who will giving demonstrations on the day alongside other top Dorset chefs. Lesley has taken part in previous years and as well as being a Dorset resident, runs the fantastic Lesley Waters Cookery School in the county.”
