Wakely Cox : Patron
Puddletown farmer Wakely Cox is a pillar of the Dorset farming community, taking part in many committees and promotional activities.
Wakely says: "It is with great honour to have been asked to be a patron of this year’s Dorset Food & Arts Festival at Poundbury, as all my previous years experience of the Festival is just providing some of the small bales of straw used for the seating. "
He added: "But as a local farmer having been born in Dorchester hospital and lived all my life in Puddletown and farming the surrounding area, which my sons are now the fifth generation, but also many years ago my grandfather and uncle were tenants of the Duchy of Cornwall, and my mother spent her childhood here on the farms of Maiden Castle and Middle Farm and of course parts of Poundbury Farm itself where we are standing today. I feel I could not have got more of a connection with this event and food we produce and the countryside we live in and Dorset."
